Credsline Privacy Notice

Last updated: July 2026

Credsline is currently in private beta. This notice describes what we collect, why, and who we share it with. A complete Privacy Policy is in preparation with counsel and will replace this page before general availability. Questions: privacy@credsline.com.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address, username, and authentication details. Authentication is handled by Clerk; we do not store your password.

Eligibility information. Your date of birth and state of residence. We collect these solely to determine whether you are eligible to use Credsline under age and state requirements, and to re-check eligibility if your state of residence changes or if eligibility rules change. We retain this information for as long as your account is open so that eligibility can be re-verified; we do not use it for any other purpose.

Platform activity. The claims you submit, the positions you commit CC to, your Credibility Currency balance and transaction history, disputes you file or endorse, and your Creds and reliability scores.

Payment information. When you purchase CC, your card number and security code are entered directly with Stripe and never touch Credsline's servers. After a payment succeeds, we receive and store your card's brand, last four digits, a card identifier (Stripe's "fingerprint," which lets us recognize the same card across purchases), and the billing name given to Stripe — linked to your account, for confirming payments and detecting fraud. If we change payment providers, this notice will be updated.

Usage analytics. Once you sign in, pages viewed and actions taken within the product are linked to your account — your user ID, email, username, and role — and collected through PostHog. This is not anonymous or aggregate-only analytics: PostHog can associate this activity with your specific account. PostHog also resolves an approximate location from your IP address by default; we have not disabled that.

Content you upload. Any files or images you submit with a claim, stored via Supabase.

Technical information. Your IP address and a device fingerprint (derived from browser and network characteristics) are recorded and linked to your account at specific actions — account creation, CC purchases, committing to a position, and filing or endorsing a dispute — and retained with your account, not just kept in rotating server logs. This is used for security, fraud investigation, and abuse prevention.

How your information is used

Used to identify you individually:

  • Operating your account — authentication, balances, positions, settlements, and disputes.
  • Determining and enforcing eligibility (age and state requirements).
  • Processing your CC purchases.
  • Sending you account, resolution, and dispute notices.
  • Investigating fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms.
  • Product analytics — how you individually use the product, tied to your account identity as described above. We do not currently make automated decisions about your account based on this data, but it is not aggregate-only or anonymous, and we may review individual activity as part of investigating fraud or abuse.

Shown publicly on the platform:

  • Your username, Creds, reliability score, and leaderboard position are visible to other users.
  • Your balance, transaction history, date of birth, state of residence, and email address are not visible to other users.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that operate the platform on our behalf:

Each provider receives only what it needs to perform its function. Your date of birth and state of residence are used only for eligibility determination within Credsline and are not shared with analytics or payment providers.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Credsline or its users.

Retention

We retain your account information and platform activity for as long as your account is open, and afterward as needed to resolve disputes, meet accounting obligations, and prevent abuse. Transaction and settlement records are retained after an account is closed for these purposes.

Your choices

  • Access and correction. You can view and update your account details in your profile. Contact us if you need help correcting information you cannot change yourself.
  • Deletion. You may request account deletion by contacting privacy@credsline.com. Some records must be retained as described above.
  • Communications. Account and resolution notices are part of the service and cannot be turned off while your account is open.

Age

Credsline is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Users must be at least 18 — or older where their state requires it — to register. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under the applicable minimum age, we will close the account and delete the information.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, managed authentication through Clerk, and access controls on administrative functions. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the beta develops. Material changes will be communicated to registered users.
